Clinical Psychologist Oznur Yuksel Akten

Expert Clinical Psychologist Öznur Yüksel Akten graduated from Ankara University, Department of Psychology in 2013. She completed her master's degree, which she started at Üsküdar University, Department of Clinical Psychology, with her thesis titled "Examination of Self-Perception and Sexual Satisfaction Related to the Role of Parenthood in Women in the Context of Object Relations" and received her specialization.

During her undergraduate education, she worked voluntarily with children and adolescents in various non-governmental organizations in Ankara. During the same years, she interned at a "child and youth prison", the Autistic Individuals Association and an Elderly Care Home. During her graduate education, she completed her internship at the NP Brain Hospital.

In the early years of her career, she worked at a special education and rehabilitation center and later provided consultancy services and psycho-education to families of hearing-impaired children at the Child Education Association.

Clinical Psychologist Öznur Yüksel Akten worked as an adult psychotherapist at the Kadıköy Municipality Child Protective Mental Health Center, the first mental health center established within a municipality in the field of preventive mental health studies in Turkey, between 2016 and 2023. She conducted psychoanalytic psychotherapy sessions with adults at this center for 7 years. Simultaneously, she continued to provide psychodynamic / psychoanalytic psychotherapy services to adults at various psychological counseling centers.

Yüksel Akten, who has been receiving individual supervision in psychoanalytic/psychodynamically oriented psychotherapy since 2018, also continues his own psychoanalysis process.

Expert Clinical Psychologist Öznur Yüksel Akten currently continues her psychotherapy work with adults. She works with psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapy orientations in her sessions.
